Accessibility Statement

CrownSync LTD — All Services

Last updated: April 2026

CrownSync LTD is committed to making all of our websites and applications accessible to everyone, in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We believe accessibility is a legal obligation, a commercial responsibility, and the right thing to do — particularly given that many of our users work in regulated sectors where accessibility compliance is expected of their suppliers.

This statement applies to all CrownSync services: crownsync.uk, ce.crownsync.uk, and pb.crownsync.uk.

Compliance Status

All CrownSync websites aim to be fully compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We have addressed all known issues identified in our most recent audit. We continue to test regularly and welcome reports of any issues we may have missed.

What We Have Done

We have implemented the following accessibility measures across all CrownSync services:

  • All images have descriptive alt text or are marked as decorative with aria-hidden
  • All pages have a descriptive, unique page title
  • All pages use the correct HTML language attribute (lang="en-GB")
  • All pages include appropriate landmark regions including main, nav, and footer
  • Interactive elements include visible focus indicators
  • A skip-to-main-content link is available on all pages for keyboard users
  • Colour is not used as the sole means of conveying information
  • All form inputs are labelled
  • The sites are navigable by keyboard throughout
  • Authentication is handled by our self-hosted identity provider and does not require cognitive puzzles or CAPTCHAs
  • The prefers-reduced-motion media query is implemented — users who enable reduced motion in their OS settings will have animations suppressed
  • External links that open in a new tab include a visually hidden screen reader warning "(opens in a new tab)"
  • Data tables include scope="col" on column headers and visually hidden captions where appropriate
  • Section elements use aria-labelledby to reference their visible headings, enabling screen reader users to navigate by landmarks
  • Interactive call-to-action elements use valid <a> elements styled as buttons rather than nested <button> inside <a> patterns
  • Dark mode is available via class-based toggle, designed to meet the same contrast requirements as the light theme
  • Colour contrast meets WCAG 2.1 AA minimum ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)

Standards

We target conformance with:

Testing

We test accessibility using:

  • Automated testing with axe-core and Lighthouse
  • Manual keyboard-only navigation testing
  • Screen reader testing (NVDA, VoiceOver)
  • Colour contrast analysis using WebAIM tools
  • Reduced-motion testing with operating system settings

Known Limitations

We are aware of the following areas where accessibility may be limited:

  • PDF exports (Playbooks): Generated PDFs are primarily visual documents. While they contain text content, they may not be fully screen-reader accessible. We recommend using the on-platform view for the best accessible experience.
  • Third-party authentication: Some authentication flows are provided by Authentik and may have their own accessibility characteristics outside our direct control.

If you discover an issue we have missed, please contact us at [email protected].

If you experience difficulty accessing any part of our websites or need content in a different format, please contact us:
